Argentina is one of the main players in the global market, with more than 20 years in the export activity. Its geographical location has a counter-season crop as an advantage, which allows us to supply products during periods of low production in the countries of the Northern Hemisphere. Over the last years, the blueberry industry has changed a lot, especially due to the arrival of several new producing countries which has made the market more and more competitive. The good news is that worldwide demand continues to grow, thus each producing country will face the challenge of finding its place in this new international scenario.
In line with this business model, ABC carries out a national social strategy which aims to public- private and multi-stakeholder cooperation, with a long term view and taking into account the local needs in order to find solution.
Recently, two important world fairs for the fruit and vegetable industry were held, PMA Fresh Summit in the United States and Fruit Attraction in Spain. The first one is already positioned as a reference event for the blueberry sector of Argentina while the second fair has been growing year after year and beginning to gain momentum in the industry.
Blueberry producers, once again, participated in the annual fair “PMA Fresh Summit Convention & Expo”, which was held from October 18 to 19, 2019 in the city of Anaheim, California, United States.
Producers of the Argentinean Blueberry Committee (ABC) celebrate the “blueberry week” once again, being October and November the months of higher production in our country. From October 14 to 20, within the framework of the campaign “Better with Blueberries” which aims at promoting local consumption and position this “super fruit” as a healthy snack for the whole family.
