The AQSIQ technical team finished its visit after a week touring blueberries productive areas in our country and a week of inspections in different fields and packing plants of Argentina.

ABC’s president, Carlos Stabile, went with the committee to Metán, in the province of Salta, where they visited the facilities of Extraberries, and he stated that “ the three professionals of AQSIQ showed great interest in knowing the field management, and paid close attention to the rules and procedures regarding the health monitoring and control of the crops.”
Both in Extraberries and Tierra de Arándanos in Tucumán, as well as in Finca el Roble and Olzan in Buenos Aires (who joined the companies Hortifrut Expofresh and Berries del Plata), the engineers took samples and paid special attention to the safety of the fields and also to the Good Storage Practices inside the fruit’s packing plants, where they were very meticulous regarding the management of pesticides. Guillermo Rossi, Director of Health Certification of SENASA, and Inés Peláez, manager of the ABC, led the committee in the Central region of our country.
In Rossi’s own words, “the final meeting at SENASA’s head offices was very good, but we have to wait for the final results of the Plague Risk Analysis which we will surely have available in the first months of the coming year.”
